Qpay is a licensed entity in the Qatar Financial Centre to offer Micro-lending and Fintech services.
Qpay qualified from 500 applicants. After a further rigorous shortlisting process 14 FinTech Startups were invited to pitch to a jury comprising Strategic and Theme Partners from which 10
FinTech Startups were selected for direct entry to the program. The program was conducted in partnership with key industry players with the likes of VISA, Qatar Insurance Company, Mastercard, and QDB to empower FinTech Startups in different areas such as PayTech, InsurTech, Buy Now Pay Later, and Loan-Based Crowdfunding. Qpay secured a capital pre-seed investment inclusive of cash and in-kind.
QPay was honored by the Central Bank of Oman as the first licensed Omani Buy Now Pay Later platform. This recognition solidifies QPay’s position as a pioneer in the fintech industry in Oman.
In a strategic move, QPay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vodafone Oman to become their official partners for providing customers with mobile devices in installments. This partnership signifies QPay’s commitment to providing convenient and accessible financial solutions to customers.
QPay also signed an agreement with the Oman Credit Bureau services, Malaa, to provide consumers with access to creditworthiness information. This historic milestone marks the first instance of a fintech company being connected to a credit agency in Oman, underscoring QPay’s dedication to advancing financial inclusion.
As part of its participation in COMEX 2024, QPay was shortlisted among 25 fintech companies to compete for the SCALE award, organized and sponsored by ITHCA Group Oman. QPay’s outstanding contributions and innovations were acknowledged as they emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious award.
